Thursday means only one thing- tomorrow is Friday! I have been busy getting everything in order for my trip on Saturday and finally decided late last night to start to think about packing... I am seriously a wicked organized person, my planner is my bible; lists, plans and timelines are my jams. Those qualities I inherited from my mother. But when it comes to packing, I am 100% my fathers daughter (but he is much, MUCH worst than I.... like... misses flights on the regular- books rental cars in the wrong city... bless him- but thank the Lord he has my mother!). I am such a procrastinator, therefore, I end up overpacking to an embarrassing degree. Anywhooo, I put together some outfits and folded them nicely in my suitcase. However, I have realized that I really need to invest in a steamer... Since I don't own one I ended up having to turn my bathroom into a steam room to try and de-wrinkle some of the pieces I want to bring with me! It's a strange thing packing for a country that you are completely unfamiliar with. It proved to be a challenge for me to try and rationalize in my mind what I should/need to bring and what will be considered acceptable. After all, its not just some vacation, I will be meeting with elite diplomats and people alike so I feel as though it is important to dress the part!
Well.. I have packed my suitcase... which means I will probably unpack and re-pack it at least 3 more times... Which leaves me packing the night before I leave for Africa-typical... Wish me luck friends!
